Akira Shimizu
Akira manages Pembroke’s business initiatives and property portfolio in the Asia Pacific region (Australia and Japan).
Akira has a comprehensive background in real estate investment, asset management and development and is responsible for our strategic initiatives in the Asia Pacific region, with oversight of our portfolio in both Australia and Japan.
He leads the strategic management and asset management operations with direct responsibility of asset-specific business plans, capital projects and tenant engagement while also seeking for new investment opportunities in the APAC region.
Prior to taking on oversight of the APAC portfolio, he was responsible for managing our Nordics portfolio including Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
- Responsible for asset operational performance and managing strategies that promote tenant satisfaction enhancement
- Responsible for overseeing the asset management of Pembroke’s 1,017,367 sq. ft (94,600 sqm) APAC portfolio in Japan and Australia
- Managed our development projects in Japan and the Nordics including planning negotiations with local authorities as well as working with local consultants, engineers and contractor/builder
